When checking your credit report, look out for errors.  Look out for the most obvious errors, such as having accounts not belonging to you or a 30 day late report when you were actually on time.  I’ve had errors on my report for years before deciding to contact them to remove it.  The sooner you take care of errors, the better off you are.  If you found fraudulent accounts or accounts that don’t belong to you on your credit report, simply contact the three credit bureaus.
