18. Human Scarecrow

A young man in Norfolk was hired to be a human scarecrow. He sits in a chair, wearing a bright orange coat and frightens birds who threaten to destroy the crops. He says he reads and occasionally has to ring the cowbell to scare them away. This seems to be a very easy going job that many may be envious of.  However, you do need a whole lot of patience if you are doing this job; it requires standing there and doing nothing—literally.
